Biopro/Hopar/Kennis internal UV Wave Filters use genuine UV-C Bulbs and not cheap noneffective standard UV bulbs. Over time UV-C Bulbs will become less effective in producing UV Light that helps fight of water born algae and disease. UV-C Bulbs should be replaced every 12 months to maintain optimum performance.
