Lobelia Cardinalis- is a marsh plant native to the US.  It can be found growing along streams, rivers, and waterways.  The leaves are typically green when grown submerged but as the plant grows taller and reaches the surface of the water, immersed leaves will develop a red or purple tint

It does prefer a nutrient-rich environment and clean water. It requires moderate to high light to thrive.

Lobelia Cardinaliss is propagated through cuttings that easily take root in the substrate. It can be grown submersed or emersed.
