The Biopro/Hopar Pond UV Clarifier is used to eliminate water-born floating algae which turns the pond water green and starves it of oxygen. Algae as well as plants compete with fish for the oxygen that is available. The oxygen is only produced in “the daytime” reducing the algae ensures there is enough oxygen during the night to keep your pond healthy. During nightfall, when oxygen demand is at its highest, the fish will not have to compete with algae during this oxygen-consuming period of photosynthesis.
