LYRETAIL MOLLY VARIOUS COLORS 5 cm

 

The Lyretail Molly has a beautiful ‘Lyre’ shaped tail.  The Lyretail Molly, is a hybrid color variation of the Poecilia velifera. The Lyretail Molly requires a tank of at least 100L with algae and plenty of room to swim. The tall dorsal fin of the male will not develop if adequate room is not provided for him to swim. This species should only share a tank with other peaceful fish that prefer hard water with elevated salt levels.

The Molly variations will accept any aquarium food, but in order to maintain top condition it does require some vegetable matter. They will also eat algae which they will find for themselves by constantly grazing on plants or other surfaces in the aquarium.

The Lyretail molly is extremely peaceful, and makes an ideal community fish.

Molly’s are livebearers, meaning that the female gives birth to fully formed, free swimming babies!
