Fire Mouth -Red Breasted Cichlid 5cm

Introducing the Firemouth Thorichthys meeki Cichlid, a beautifully vibrant and active fish that will add a pop of color to your aquarium. These cichlids are native to Central America and can be found in the Belize river, Mexico, and Guatemala. They have a maximum size of 17 cm, possibly larger, and prefer a pH of 6.5 to 7.5 and a temperature range of 24°C to 27°C.

When it comes to caring for Firemouth Thorichthys meeki Cichlids, it is important to maintain the correct water parameters to keep them healthy and thriving. They require a slightly acidic to neutral water environment and a temperature range of 24°C to 27°C.

When choosing tank mates for your Firemouth Thorichthys meeki Cichlids, it is best to stick with other peaceful and similarly sized fish. Some good options include tetras, guppies, and angelfish.

When it comes to feeding, these cichlids are omnivores and will enjoy a diet of both protein-rich foods such as brine shrimp and a variety of vegetables and greens. They will also enjoy eating pellets and flakes specifically designed for cichlids.

When it comes to aggression, Firemouth Thorichthys meeki Cichlids can be territorial and aggressive with their own species. To prevent this, it is recommended to have a minimum tank size of 30 gallons and to have a ratio of one male to two females to reduce the chances of aggressive behavior.

In conclusion, the Firemouth Thorichthys meeki Cichlid is a colorful and active addition to any aquarium. With the proper care, these cichlids will bring life and energy to your tank for years to come.
