ELECTRIC BLUE - 10CM

Electric blue without a doubt is probably the second most popular African Cichlid for fish keepers. The striking colors of the male once it matures will quickly become the show piece of your aquarium. The electric blue gets its name from its deep metallic blue coloration that the males develop once mature. Females will remain silver but its not uncommon for them to show some coloration in the body and around the gill plates. The electric blue has a longer slender bullet shaped body compared to its other distant cousins in the hap family.. A true electric blue should NEVER have spots alongside its body (often seen these days as they have been crossed with lithobates)
